Time & Work

If A can do a piece of work in x days, then A’s work in one day’s work = 1/x

If A’s single-day work is 1/x, then A can finish the work in x days.

If A does twice as much work as B, then A to B’s Ratio of work done in a given period is 2:1. Ratio of time taken by A:B is 1:2

Time taken is inversely proportional to work done.

Time & Work Questions are often difficult to understand, but with a  few important formulae, you can easily understand and solve these questions.

Work Done by one person = (Total Work) / (Number of people)

Work Done in one day = (Total Work) / (Number of days)

Work Done by one person in one day = (Total Work) / (Number of people)(Number of days)
