“I love Biology!”, this is what every NEET aspirant would say.
why wouldn’t we? it is just so interesting and every time we learn something new about the human body; we are amazed (keeping those big terminologies aside).
So is Biology important? Yes, it is. It’s the whole crux of the Medical field. Other than that it covers 50 % of the entire NEET Syllabus. And it’s absolutely easy to score in this. Maximum MCQs are directed, with no extra jargon no application no calculation, no logarithm, and no derivations, some you will even find are direct NCERT Lines.
So what makes learning biology difficult? It has a very vast syllabus. 38 chapters and tons of medical terminologies. In-depth concept understanding and concept retention and vast syllabus again.
So, how do we get 360 out of 360 in Biology?
Let’s take this step by step.
NCERT- the holy scripture
Follow the NCERT and only the NCERT. You will need to follow NCERT 11th / NCERT 12th and also make it a point to go through the NCERT Exemplars questions. Other than this you need Past question papers and a few practice papers. Honestly, these are sufficient materials.
Now, when you sit to do entire syllabus papers it will get a little tough in the beginning, because the questions will be from different chapters and all here and there. So to be prepared for this, we suggest an MCQ book. This could be any MCQ book. No problem. As long as you have something chapter-wise to practice and refer to.

The How and the What
So firstly, when you read the text, mark and underline the important points. Write the meaning of words that you do not understand. Immediately sit to make notes of this chapter or the concept. Making your notes is an extremely effective way of learning.
To make study notes of one chapter; you will read that passage, again and again, to fit it into easy words. You might go online check some more details about it. You would check some videos to understand that concept or check some documentaries.
It might sound like to length process at the time being, but trust me it is an extremely effective process. You will remember it, retain it, comprehend it for long.
Do not invest days in a completely one- one chapter. You aren’t going to get awarded. Make it simple, colorful. Let it have everything related to the concepts.
Scientists and the Cycles
There will be many names of the scientists. Each time when you sit to read, sit with a book. Every time you come across the name of the scientist; immediately transfer his/her name and the details in the book. Every day you will add on to this list. Take 10 minutes out of your entire day; every day to glance and read through these names.
If you start doing this from today, you do not need to remove time separately for this; and 10 minutes is going to be sufficient throughout.
Diagrams, flowcharts, and cycles. Have a separate book for this. Draw or make these charts neatly for ones. As for colour full as possible. With all the enzyme names with all the details in it.
Every week allot 6 of these for practice, 2 cycles, 2 flowcharts, 2 diagrams. Every day for that one week; practice each of these 6 things. Daily and consistently. Next week pick different 6.
This is how to have to practice, not random. Smart and precise work. And make sure you are doing this right and right the first time!
Testing and learning from the past.
Testing is important. This will give you your reality check. Give a chapter-wise test and check for your score and analyze the mistakes. And with each test see how to can get your score graph rising higher.
The Last 5 months are to be allotted only and only for practicing past and solved papers. Every day 1 paper. Invest 80% of your time in solving and 20% of your time in analyzing and optimizing the mistakes you made in these papers. That is how you will build your score of 360.
Even when you are taking a test or solving past papers; make sure to read 2 chapters daily for, 10 minutes of going the scientists’ names and 6 cycles of diagrams or flowcharts. Keep doing spaced repetition to retain what you studied.
That’s it, you have it now! The magic mantra to get 360 in biology. And I can write and give you this; if you follow this from now till your final exam day; you have 360 marks in your pocket.
